Work the World has a positive reputation with my university, so I enquired into their service.

I found that they could provide me with invaluable clinical experiences while quenching my thirst for travel.

At first I had no idea where I wanted to go.

I spoke to someone at Work the World, and they listened to my clinical interests then made some great suggestions.

I never felt nervous or stressed.

I chose Nepal. I was massively interested in the culture, but had limited knowledge of what it would be like.

The Work the World team were incredibly supportive in the lead up to my departure. They answered all my questions and provided me with a reassuring level of detail.

I never felt nervous or stressed.

The Work the World house in Kathmandu was a welcoming environment. I felt at home right away.

All the staff, cooks, housekeepers and everyone in-between went above and beyond. They made our experiences unforgettable, from helping us plan weekend adventures to cooking our favourite dishes.

The team took me to my placement at the local teaching hospital. They provided an introduction to the placement and it was thorough.

They encouraged me to ask as many questions as I needed to.

I initially felt apprehensive about being in a completely different cultural and clinical environment.

I can’t recommend Work the World enough.

I soon found that local nursing students were more than willing to help me understand both.

The local students were fascinated by how my practice back home differed to what they were used to.

If you’re looking for adventure and a chance to better yourself in the clinical environment, I can’t recommend Work the World enough.

I made lifelong friends and learnt so much about myself. If you’re unsure, don’t be. Just do it — you won’t regret it.
