Why Go Overseas

Practicing radiography in a low resource overseas setting is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You’ll work with local staff learning how they scan, detect and diagnose conditions using limited and sometimes outdated machinery. You’ll advance your professional and personal skills in ways you simply couldn’t back home.

We’ve honed our expertise for more than a decade, organising radiography placements all over the world. We’ve built incredible partnerships with hospitals across the world, and based on these relationships, we can offer a level of structured supervision that you won’t find elsewhere. Pulling all this together are our expert in-country teams. Providing 24/7 support, they oversee everything from your catered accommodation to making sure your clinical experience meets your expectations.

How Does it Work?

With the wealth of destinations we offer, deciding where to travel can be tricky. We’ll help you make the best decision by drawing on our specialist experience in this area. Once you’ve decided, you’ll work with one of our experts to develop your placement based on the areas you’re interested in working in. Whether it’s developing X-rays in a darkroom or working with radiotherapy treatments, tell us what you want to experience most and we’ll make it happen.

This level of customisation requires a lot of behind the scenes planning, preparation and implementation. Once you’ve registered, you can log into MyTrip — our online interactive placement planner. Here, you can view personalised information about your trip and see how your plans are progressing.

Accommodation and Team

A member of our management team will collect you from the airport when you arrive. Together, you’ll travel to the Work the World house where you’ll have time to settle in before your welcome briefing. The next day, we’ll show you around the local area on an orientation trip, followed by a visit to the hospital you’ll be working in.

We provide catered accommodation in the form of large private houses. Secure, spacious and sociable, you’ll be living with students and professionals from a range of clinical backgrounds. Weekends are always fun, as you’ll travel the country with the new friends you make. Our in-country teams are there to provide support, no matter what time of day or night. You’ll also have an in-house chef, housekeeper and a local language teacher who’ll host lessons twice a week.

in the hospital

Radiography placements abroad allow people to develop professionally in unique ways with the support of a wider team. The day before your placement starts, we’ll show you the best route to get to the hospital you’ll be working in and introduce you to your supervisors when you get there. Thanks to our close relationships with radiography staff, you could be involved in everything from performing scans to developing X-rays in a darkroom. Placements run from Monday to Friday, so you’ll be free to socialise in the evenings and travel the country on weekends.
