I loved my time in Ghana.

I just knew that a placement in Ghana would allow me to experience pharmacy practice in a whole new way and give me a better understanding and appreciation of the profession throughout the world.

The midwife I spent most of my time with was very special; I find it difficult to put it into words.

At around 10pm the power cut and despite being told there was a lantern, it had no batteries. The baby was born by the light of the torches on our phones!

The strength of Ghanaian women is inspirational. Not only do they click their way through contractions but manage to walk between two rooms in order to bring their newborn to this world.
