I had the chance to monitor and examine women during labour and perform a large number of deliveries. I was also able to get involved when women needed interventions such as putting in catheters, cannulas and also performing artificial rupture of membranes, episiotomies and suturing post partum.

Not only did I see exacerbations of conditions that are less prevalent in the UK, such as malaria and HIV, but I also had an insight into how UK conditions such as CVA's and UTI's are treated in a developing country.

Work the World went out of their way to make it an amazing experience and I cannot fault them and would recommend them to everyone who is considering an elective placement.
